Bradley Dack made a return for Gillingham on Saturday and boss Martin Allen was delighted to see him back.

Dack recently returned from a month’s loan spell with Blue Square Bet Premier Braintree.

He came on as a late substitute in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Dagenham and Allen insisted that it was the player’s positive attitude that got him there.

“On Thursday in training he was outstandingly good,” said the Gills boss.

“I am lucky to be able to watch them in training and have gut feelings. If they sulk and don’t train hard and don’t do the work in the gym, then I don’t pick them.

“Earlier in the season, I hadn’t been able to get him involved as much as I could and it’s the same with the young boy Davies. I was disappointed I couldn’t get him on the bench.”
