Communications chief Matt Burrows earning £96k at Kent County Council axed as role to be scrapped in budget

Kent County Council's communications chief has become the latest casualty of a cut in the number of senior managers working for the authority.
Matt Burrows has left his £96,000-a-year post as part of the latest cost-cutting re-organisation at County Hall.
It is understood he is not working out his three months' notice and is on paid leave until April, when the director's role will officially be scrapped. He took up the director's post two years ago.
Mr Burrows joined the county council from the London borough of Croydon, where he was in charge of media and communications. Previously, he was head of media relations at Surrey County Council.
KCC is expected to outline full details of its budget plans for next year shortly.
