Pub chain Wetherspoons shocked customers at its 900 pubs by pulling its popular steak night.

Customers across Kent and Medway were left with rumbling tummies after the firm pulled steak from its menus.

The chain blamed a 'supplier issue' with one member of staff saying all steaks had been recalled.

The Sun reported that some diners had their menus taken away as they were about to order.

Some were offered quinoa and halloumi salad instead.

Wetherspoons normally sells around 90,000 steaks on Tuesdays at the Steak Club, with a meal and a drink costing just £7.
