Margate remain a point off the Ryman League Premier Division play-offs after a 1-1 draw at leaders Whitehawk on Tuesday night.

Captain John Beales, pictured, gave sixth-placed Gate the lead on 20 minutes but they were pegged back shortly before half-time when Charlie Henry scored a penalty.

Paul Booth continued his fine form since joining Cray, opening the scoring in a 1-1 home draw with Canvey Island.

Booth's strike gave Wands the lead on 25 minutes but Bradley Woods-Garness replied for Canvey 10 minutes after half-time.

Whitstable eased their Ryman League Division 1 South relegation fears with a 1-0 home home win against Merstham.

Defender Ollie Lee scored the only goal after 18 minutes as Town climbed two places to 17th.
