A major air and sea hunt was launched for a missing kayaker - who was then found sitting at home.

The RNLI scrambled its Sheerness lifeboat crew, the RAF helicopter was sent to the scene - along with the coastguards.

They were looking for a man who'd gone missing on the Medway last night from a party of kayakers paddling from Hoo to Upnor.

But he was found safe and well at home an hour and a half later.
