Mitsubishi Shogun.

A new Shogun can now be bought from £26,199. The biggest price drop is the £5,000 knocked off the SG3 and SG4 long wheelbase versions, which go from costing £38,799 and £41,799 respectively to £33,799 and £36,799.

These are permanent price reductions, says Mitsubishi, and not limited offers. The cuts are part of the Japanese firm’s move to increase sales, which are up 41% in 2013 compared to the same period in 2012.

The Shogun is offered in short wheelbase three-door and long wheelbase five-door versions. Both use the same 3.2-litre turbodiesel engine with a choice of manual or automatic gearboxes depending on the model.

Lance Bradley, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors UK, said: “Shogun has always had a loyal following among customers wanting a rugged, well-equipped, sensibly priced full-sized 4x4 model and now with our announcement on pricing, Shogun is even more affordable. Shogun remains an extremely competitive and capable vehicle for those demanding its extraordinary capabilities.”

The Shogun range comprises SG2, SG3 and SG4 trims, as well as the Warrior model. There are also commercial versions of the Shogun, which are also included in the price reductions.
