THE driver of a Mercedes car was in collision with a woman and her two young children as they walked along a road.

One of the youngsters, a girl of four, suffered a head injury and underwent surgery in hospital.

The mother and the other child were also taken to hospital with less serious injuries. The incident happened in Church Street, Burham, near Rochester, shortly before 5pm on Saturday.

A man was arrested in connection with the incident. He was granted police bail pending further inquiries.
