Marion Cornick’s daughter Talli was just 16 when she was knocked off her moped and killed by a car driven by an 18-year-old motorist.

Since the accident on the B2000, near Cliffe, in January 2002, Mrs Cornick has helped the emergency services raise awareness of the dangers of the road.

Talli had been on her way to her friend’s house for a pizza and to do her homework but never made it.

Mrs Cornick said: “A policeman knocked on the door and came in and said there had been an accident.

“I assumed she would be at the hospital and everything would be OK but unfortunately everyone’s worst nightmare came true.
