TWO men have been seriously injured in a motorbike collision on a country lane.

The incident happened in Hartley Bottom Road, Longfield, near Dartford, at around 11.30pm on Sunday.

The 29-year-old rider, from New Ash Green, near Gravesend, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening but his passenger, a 32-year-old Orpington man, remains in a critical condition after being taken to King's College Hospital in London.

Police revealed no further details surrounding the crash but have voluntarily referred the incident to the Independent Police Complaints Commission because a police car was near the scene when the incident happened.

Kent Police's serious collision investigation unit would like any witnesses to contact them on 01622 798538.
