A MOTORCYCLIST died after a crash on the A20 close to the village of Charing, near Ashford.

Emergency services were called to the stretch of road by the roundabout at around 10.45am on Saturday.

The biker, travelling from Maidstone towards Ashford, collided with the nearside of a car as it was crossing the road.

The dead man, from Maidstone, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two men in the car had to be freed by firefighters from Ashford. They were taken to Ashford's William Harvey Hospital suffering from multiple injuries.

Kent Police's serious crash investigation unit is dealing with the incident.
