Three people arrested after a motorway police chase have appeared in court.

Darren Foreman, 23, of Hainault Road in Romford, Essex, John Falzon, 19, of Lowen Road in Rainham, Essex, and a 15-year-old from Romford were charged with three burglaries in Birchington and Tankerton, a burglary in Hornchurch in Essex and aggravated vehicle taking.

Falzon was also charged with driving whilst disqualified and with no insurance.

The trio were arrested after a Tankerton man told police he was disturbed by the noise of alarms sounding at the Spar store and gave officers a description of a car believed to be involved in a raid.

They monitored the vehicle with a rolling road block before using a stinger device to burst its tyres and finally used a tactical manoeuvre to bring it to a halt on the M2.

All three were remanded in custody, the 15-year-old to secure accommodation, and they are due before Margate magistrates on Friday.
