Murder investigation launched

A MURDER investigation has begun after a man in his 40s was stabbed in Thamesmead.

It is believed the man was attacked by a group of men outside Timothy House, in Kale Road, Thamesmead around 11.18pm last night.

He was found on a raised walkway opposite the tower block and was taken to the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, but was pronounced dead at 1.38am.

Three men aged 24, 27 and 35 have been arrested in connection with the incident.

A post mortem will take place later today and an inquest will open and adjourn in due course.

The man has not yet been named.
