Murder probe after woman's death

DETECTIVES have launched a murder inquiry following the death of a 35-year-old woman.

Police were called to an incident at about 1pm yesterday in Downham Way, Bromley, near Grove Park railway station.

Officers found the woman in a car suffering from what is believed to be a stab wound. She was taken to hospital by ambulance where she died.

Det Ch Insp Phil Adams, who is leading the investigation, has asked anyone who witnessed the incident or can assist police with their enquiries to contact the incident room at Lewisham police station on 020 8721 4868.

*A 44-year-old man was arrested in the Downham area on Monday evening and is in custody at a south London police station.
