Mystery death of 34-year-old Seasalter man

A 34-year-old man has been found dead at his home in Seasalter’s Lucerne Drive.

Paramedics went to the home of Neil Birch last Wednesday where they found him dead.

Death was confirmed at 4.15pm and his body was taken to the mortuary of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.

East Kent coroner Rebecca Cobb has been informed and an inquest will be held.

In 2004, Mr Birch was rescued after spending a night adrift on a boat that had lost its power and was drifting near Ramsgate.
