A black rose has been found on
the grave of teenage murder victim Ashley Dighton.

The 19-year-old went missing two
years ago today and his killers have still not been
caught.

Ashley, who lived in Kennington,
was last seen near Sainsbury’s in Simone Weil Avenue, on June 11,
2007.

His decapitated remains were found
behind the store a month later.

His body is buried in Bybrook
Cemetery, Cemetery Lane, between where his remains were found and
his father’s home in Nine Acres, Kennington.

Ashley’s father, Ambrose Dighton,
made the unsettling discovery of the single black rose on his son’s
grave on Monday afternoon.

Mr Dighton said: "People who do
these sort of things, they’ve either got sick minds or it might be
somebody who knows something who has put this rose on to the grave
– to try and tell us something."

Mr Dighton, who has researched the
meaning, said: "A black rose means one of three things – rebirth,
death or an act of vengeance."

The father-of-eight is now
concerned about the welfare of his other children.

He said: "My kids will have to have
eyes in the back of their heads."
