Asda Ashford is undergoing a £2.9 million make-over this summer, which will be completed at the end of November.

The Kimberley Way store’s improvements will include a new pharmacy that will create five to 10 jobs and will overall provide more range to customers.

The bakery has just closed as the first stage of the work but the store will still provide bread baked at Asda in Canterbury.

Asda Ashford will then embark on a series of improvements to the customer toilets, counters, refrigeration and music, video and games department.

The store will also receive an additional bank of self-service check-outs.

The company says all of this will completely transform its appearance.

General store manager Richard Adams said; “I’m very excited about the improvements and hope customers will be pleased with our new look.

“The £2.9 million is a massive vote of confidence in Ashford from Asda.

“I’d like to thank customers for their patience and loyalty while we make the changes.”
