New Mazda idea is a gas, gas, gas

MAZDA announced the new development of its Rotary Hydrogen engine programme at the 2003 Tokyo Motor Show.

The hydrogen-powered version of the Renesis is an example of a hydrogen-gasoline dual-fuel system which gives extremely clean emissions.

Mazda says that, unlike other alternative fuels which are reliant on fossil fuels for their production, hydrogen is a naturally occurring gas which produces water as an exhaust product, making it extremely environmentally friendly.

The company adds that while it is still several years away from producing a hydrogen car for customer use, it is one of the few manufacturers pursuing alternative fuel sources that do not rely on fossil fuels.
