Ted Shaxted

OFFICERS investigating the death of 36 year-old man have renewed their appeal for witnesses.

Detectives from Kent Police’s Major Crime Department have been investigating an attack on Ted Shaxted in his home at Wallis Park, Northfleet, on December 2, 2007. He died in hospital of his injuries two weeks later.

Detective Inspector John Coull, who is leading the investigation, said: "We have already made significant progress in identifying those responsible for the assault on Mr Shaxted which, unfortunately, led to his death.

"We are grateful for the support we have received from the local community so far, but we still need their help.

"I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed three men leaving the flats at Wallis Park between 9pm and 10pm that evening (Sunday 2 December) to come forward.

"I would also urge anyone who may have heard anything about this incident, no matter how insignificant they think it is, to get in contact with us.

"The family of Ted Shaxted deserve justice and my team of detectives will leave no stone unturned in order to catch the people responsible."

Anyone with information can contact the incident room on 01634 884011, or they can call Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
