Nicky Forster frustrated by Dover Athletic's lack of games

Dover Athletic manager Nicky Forster is facing more fixture frustration over the new few days.

Without a scheduled match last Saturday, Whites are set for another blank this weekend because the continuing cold weather has put their away game at Farnborough in serious jeopardy.

And to compound Forster’s problems, the saga of Hampton & Richmond’s much delayed FA Trophy tie with Northwich Victoria has yet to be resolved.

The tie was postponed yet again on Tuesday and is now likely to be re-scheduled for this coming Tuesday, which would mean Whites’ home game with Hampton having to be postponed again.

Forster, who called his squad in for a training session on Saturday morning, admitted: "After missing out on a game two weeks ago the last thing we wanted was to have another free weekend last Saturday, but there’s little you can do in a situation like this."

And Forster has also run into the familiar problem of trying to keep everyone in his squad happy, with Harry Baker signing for Welling United last week after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

The winger came to Crabble in July 2010 and featured in Whites’ memorable FA Cup run last season, but he has mostly featured as a substitute this season and had become frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities.

Forster said: "We have a tight squad at present, but must always maintain a happy group that are committed to being at Dover, which Harry clearly wasn’t."
