Norovirus shuts Medway Maritime Hospital ward

Medway Maritime Hospital

A ward at Medway Maritime Hospital has been closed due to suspected cases of the winter vomiting bug.

Wakely Ward was shut following an outbreak of what is thought to be Norovirus.

The ward will be deep cleaned tomorrow and is due to reopen on Thursday.

Friends and relatives are being asked not to visit until the ward is reopened.

People who have felt unwell or have been incontact with patients with diarrhoea and vomiting are being asked not to visit the hospital until they have been symptom free for 72 hours.
