Off-duty policeman injured in crash in Edenbridge

A driver is being questioned by police after an off-duty policeman was injured in an alleged hit-and-run accident.

The officer was walking near Boots in Edenbridge High Street at around 1.30pm today when the crash involving a Silver Audi happened.

A 45-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of theft, failing to stop after an accident and dangerous driving. He is being questioned by police at Tonbridge Police Station.

The off-duty officer was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Pembury with head and leg injuries.
