2nd ~ with 12.9% was Leeds Castle
3rd ~ a trip to Bluewater with 7.2%
4th ~ Bedgebury Pinetum, near Goudhurst, with 6.7%
5th ~ a trip to a National Trust house, such as Ightham Mote, with 6.5%
6th ~ Howletts Wild Animal Park just beat its sister park with 6.2%
7th ~ Port Lympne Wild Animal Park with 5.5%
8th ~ Dover Castle with 3%
9th ~ Bewl Water, near Lamberhurst, with 2.2%
Joint 10th ~ Chatham Historic Dockyard with 2%
Joint 10th ~ Wildwood, at Herne Bay, also with 2%

Kent's top visitor attractions have been rated by the public.

Independent market research company Local Opinion surveyed 632 residents to find out where in the county they love to visit.

Coming out on top was Kent’s coastline, as 24.6 per cent of those surveyed said they would choose a day at the coast as their first choice of destination.

Canterbury Cathedral, Kent’s only World Heritage site, and one of the UK’s top 10 tourism destinations, came twelth in the list, with just 1.7 per cent of Kent residents choosing it as their first choice destination in Kent.
