A man was lucky to escape with minor injuries after a four-car pile-up near Acol Hill.

The accident happened at around 3.30pm today on the Manston Road at the junction with Acol Hill to Shottenden.

All four cars had two people inside, with one elderly man suffering minor injuries.

The road was closed in both directions for two hours.
