Pair in court on assault and firearms charges

Two men have appeared in court following an incident which was attended by armed police.

Myles Yarney and Steven McIntosh appeared before Ashford magistrates last Thursday following the incident at Smeeth on Tuesday, August 26.

They are jointly charged with affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Yarney is also charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

The case concerning Yarney, 35, of North Road, Hythe, and McIntosh, 40, of Bindon Blood Road, Whitfield, Dover, was adjourned until September 15 at Maidstone Crown Court.

Magistrates granted the pair conditional bail.
