Pair robbed at knifepoint in Victoria Park, Ashford

This is the image just released of a suspect wanted by police after two men where robbed at knifepoint in an Ashford park.

The victims were at the grassed area between the Hubert Fountain and the football pitches when a man ran up to them demanding their mobile phones just after 11.40pm on Saturday.

Both refused but one of the victims, aged 17, was threatened with a large knife, similar to a kitchen knife, and his phone was taken.

The teenager was then kicked and punched by a second man.

The other victim was threatened and searched before his phone was also stolen.

Their attackers were seen running off in the direction of the flats in Hillbrow Lane and Cleves Way.

Police are appealing to witnesses who may have seen the robbery or the offenders.

One is white, 5ft 10ins tall, was wearing a black hooded top, blue jeans and spoke with a foreign accent, possibly eastern European.

The other is 5ft 5ins tall, of thin build and was wearing a grey hooded top with a black logo on the chest.

DI Angie Hobbs said: “This is a serious incident and both men were threatened and subjected to violence, before their property stolen.”

“I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of the park during the time frame of the incident, or has information which will help this enquiry.”
