Pamper night for stressed out Medway souls

A children’s centre in Chatham is being turned into a sanctuary for stressed-out souls to help them forget about their worries – for an evening, at least.

Reiki, Indian head massage, manicures, pedicures and eyebrow threading are some of the treatments available at a pamper evening at the All Saints Sure Start centre in Magpie Hall Road on Friday, April 3.

Other treatments include hairdressing, reflexology, nail art, make-up and a medium. Indian food and refreshments will also be available.

The event has been organised by the centre’s parents representatives, ASPIRE (All Saints Parents Invest in Real Energy), to raise funds and awareness for a miscarriage support group.

Parent rep’ Claudia Able has helped organise the event and hopes it will raise enough money to establish the support group at the centre. She said: “As parent reps we listen to the views of the parents who use the centre and some of the parents have asked us to set up a group to support people who have been affected by miscarriage.

“We hope the pamper evening will help us raise money to employ a counsellor to support anyone who needs to talk to someone about their miscarriage.”

Entry is 50p, which includes a raffle ticket for a prize draw during the evening. There will be a charge for each individual treatment at the pamper evening. Tickets can be brought in advance from the centre’s reception, or on the door from 6.45pm on April 3. The event finishes at 10pm.

For tickets and information phone the centre on 01634 338833.
