Parents and children at two secondary schools will meet tonight to hear about plans to turn a village comprehensive school into an academy.

The meeting at Leigh Technology Academy in Green Street Green Road, Dartford, starts at 7.30pm and will discuss the future of Axton Chase School in Longfield.

Sponsors The Leigh Technology Academy Trust, the University of Kent and Kent County Council, of the proposed £25m Axtane Academy in Main Road, will outline their vision and then open the floor to questions.

Axton Chase school children and parents are opposed to many of the plans including the possibility of Axton Chase head teacher Kevin Stokes losing his role.

The first of these two meeting was held at Axton Chase School on Tuesday.
