Pensioner sends intruders packing

A 65-year-old woman chased off three young men who had entered the kitchen of her home.

The woman was working in the kitchen at Godwin Road, Cliftonville, near Margate, when the doorbell rang. She looked through a window but could not see any anyone.

She then heard a noise at the side gate. When she returned to the kitchen she was confronted by the trio who were all aged about 18. She shouted at them and pursued them but lost them as they ran from Albion Road into Harold Road.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the youths in the Godwin Road area on Monday between 5.30-5.50pm.
