Be it Radiohead, Massive Attack or their own compositions, improvisation is the key for jazz outfit the Robert Mitchell Trio.

Following on from the success of their Giles Peterson Award winning debut album The Greater Good, the improvisers will be closing the Music Month Festival at the brand new Quarterhouse in Folkestone on Saturday night.

Their performances include original compositions by each of the band members as well as arrangements of tunes by Radiohead, Massive Attack and others.

Pianist Robert Mitchell said: “I’ve never been to Folkestone before and it’s not often you get to play in a new venue at a new festival. We have headlined events but never on this scale."
