Rail disruption for Kent commuters as person dies after being hit by train

Kent commuters are facing disruption after a person was killed when they were hit by a train.

There are delays of up to 40 minutes and some cancellations on Southeastern services through London Bridge and St Johns and London Bridge and Deptford.

Tickets are being accepted on local bus routes and London Underground.

Commuters are facing delays of up to 50 minutes

Police were called at 7.54am after the person was hit by a train at New Cross station.

Officers are not treating the death as suspicious and are working to identify the body and inform the family.

Some lines have reopened and trains are beginning to run again.

Power to the lines was turned off while the emergency services were allowed onto the tracks.
