Rapper Plan B's putting acting to one side and returning to the stage with a series of forest concerts next summer including one in Kent.

He's the first act to announce a tour as part of the Forestry Commission Live Music which will see him perform in woods across the country.

His third stop will be Bedgebury Pinetum and Forest near Tunbridge Wells, on Friday 22 June.

The singer said: "It's going to be a real adventure taking the Plan B show into the woods. I'm really up for this and hope to see you there."

Plan B, real name Ben Drew, first hit the charts with his hip hop album "Who Needs Actions When You Got Words."

But it was the soul-influenced "The Defamation of Strickland Banks", released in 2010 that really got him noticed and the album went on to become the fifth biggest seller of the year.

He's also won a Brit Award for Best British Male and a trio of Ivor Novellos: Songwriter of the Year; Album of The Year and Most Performed Work for the massive hit "She Said."

Next year, the songwriter will also appear on the big screen for the first time in the re-make of 70s TV show and film The Sweeney.

Forestry Commission Live Music takes place each summer in seven forest locations around the country where woodland clearings are temporarily transformed into arenas.

Tickets go on sale at 9.00am on Friday.

All the proceeds are spent on improving the local forests for both people and wildlife.
