VICTIM PAUL HUSSEY: managed two hotels in Kuta

A CHARITY auction has been organised in memory of a Kent man killed in the Bali bombings two years ago.

Sue Cooper, from Densole, near Folkestone, hopes the proceeds of the event next February will pay for a permanent memorial for all the British victims, including her brother Paul Hussey.

A number of celebrities have pledged their support for the 200-seat black tie gala at the Hythe Imperial on February 27, including entertainers Bobby Davro and Shaun Williamson and auctioneer Michael Hogben.

An impressive raffle will include signed England rugby and cricket shirts.

The nine-piece Kingsdown Band will play throughout the evening. Tickets will cost £60, which includes a dinner and cabaret.

Mrs Cooper, who runs the Garden Lodge bed and breakfast in the village, said: “This is a massive undertaking for me, but I know Paul would have approved of what I am doing. I’ll do all I can to make this event a success, not just for Paul’s sake but for all the other victims of the bombing.”

Mr Hussey was a manager of two hotels in Kuta. He was having supper in the resort on October 12, 2002 when he was killed by the terrorist devices.
