The seven-mile pursuit came to an end when the car crashed into a ditch in Pagehurst Road.

The men, aged 22 and 18-years-old, were unhurt but were arrested when officers discovered a large stash of what is believed to be cocaine.

They also found gardening equipment, including a lawnmower, which is suspected to have been stolen.

The offenders were arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft from homes. They have been bailed pending further inquries.

A third man, who fled the crash scene on foot, is still being sought by police.

Anyone with information is asked to call 01622 604 210 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
