Police hunt sex attacker after incident at Godinton Park, Ashford

Scene of attack at Godinton Park

Police have issued a description of a man they are hunting follow a serious sexual assault in an alleyway.

Officer patrols have also been stepped up in the area.

A 27-year-old woman was attacked when she walked in Godinton Park, Ashford, last Tuesday

The man police are seeking is described as white, wearing white trainers with a blue-black arch down the side and blue/black jogging pants.

The attack happened at about 6.20pm in the footpath between Cypress Avenue and Springwood Close.

The victim, a local woman, herself dialled 999 after her ordeal.

South Kent Police spokesman Rosy Alexander said: "Extra officers have been patrolling in the area that the incident took place in,.

"They have been speaking to members of the community and potential witnesses why may have been in the vicinity during the time frame of the incident.

"We believe the assault was serious and of a sexual nature."
