Victim Danny King

Police have made an urgent appeal for help with a murder investigation - just hours before it's aired across the nation.

Det Chief Insp Jon Bumpus is asking people to watch the the BBC's Crimewatch programme tonight in the hope of new leads in the murder of Danny King.

The 51-year-old died after being shot four times at his home in Medina Road, Ditton, near Maidstone, early on Friday, October 17 last year.

The appeal, to be aired tonight at 9pm on BBC1, will focus on an incident at Mr King's address in November 2006 when the window of the lounge was shot out.

CCTV footage, which officers have been closely examining, will also be released in a bid to encourage potential witnesses to come forward.

Det Chief Insp Bumpus said: "I'm not saying these two events are connected, but the reason I'm reinvestigating the incident in 2006 is to see if there is anything that does link the two offences and can give us any leads to investigate further."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kent Police incident room on 01622 654863 or email DannyKingappeal @kent.pnn.police.uk
