E-fit of man wanted in Dover

Police have released this e-fit after a man allegedly tried to accost a 10-year-old girl.

The child was walking along a road in Dover when a man driving a small white van pulled up and parked in front of her.

He got out and asked if she wanted to get in the van for money.

The girl ran to her home nearby and reported the incident to her family.

It happened at around 1.30pm on April 24 near the motorcycle shop in Coombe Valley Road.

The man is described as white but with a well-tanned appearance, 6ft tall and of chubby build.

He was 45 to 50 years old with white short hair, and was wearing a light green jacket, blue jeans, and spoke with a local accent.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "We believe this was an isolated incident and are advising parents to ensure their children are reminded of the advice given to them at school regarding strangers."

Anyone with information should DC Gemma Crouch on 01303 289 415 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
