Police issue bogus caller warning

BOGUS callers posing as gas and electricity company workers are targeting homes in South East Kent, according to the police.

They advise anyone who gets a telephone call or a caller at the door from someone claiming to be from a utility company to check with the company before giving details or letting them in.

Genuine workers will not mind waiting a few moments while the check is made.

Anyone who is suspicious about a caller should contact the police.
