A man who may have witnessed £2,000 of damge being caused to a car is being sought by police.

A silver Ford Focus had paint stripper poured on the body work and the tyres slashed. The vehicle was parked at the junction of Goodwin Road and St John’s Road, Whitstable, when the incident took place around 10.30pm on Tuesday, December 9.

Neighbourhood officer PCSO Graeme Downes is now appealing for a key witness to come forward.

“We understand that a man witnessed the incident and after speaking with the vehicle owner got on a bus.

“We are keen to trace this man as he may have information that will prove useful to this investigation.”

He added: “We are working hard to combat this kind of thoughtless crime and anti-social behaviour and will not hesitate in taking action and putting offenders before the court when appropriate.”

Anyone who can help should contact PCSO Downes on 07772 226062 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
