Kyle Coen, 14, from Teynham, was killed in a hit-and-run in Bapchild

Police have confirmed they have spoken to a mystery man they believed had information about a hit-and-run that left a teenager dead.

Detectives appealed last week for the potential witness to come forward.

It was thought he had been walking a dog in the area when Kyle Coen was knocked off his bike.

A Kent Police spokesman said today the man had given a statement.

Kyle, 14, was riding his bike when he was hit by a car outside Bapchild Cricket Club, in London Road, on Monday, July 30.

An appeal for the potential witness to come forward was made by senior investigating officer Det Sgt Scott Lynch last week.

Meanwhile, Kyle's funeral was held at Bobbing's Garden of England Crematorium on Thursday.

A post-mortem examination revealed he died from multiple injuries.
