A POSTMAN was attacked and robbed of his mail van in a Kent town on Friday morning.

The Royal Mail worker had stopped on Bellevue Road, Ramsgate, just before 9am when two men assaulted him.

They drove off in his van, which was later found abandoned in Granville Farm Mews about half an hour earlier.

Several silver and red mailbags containing recorded and special delivery items were missing.
