Power tools stolen from vehicles

AT LEAST 10 vehicles were targeted by thieves who forced door locks and smashed windows to get at power tools inside.

The vehicles, mostly vans, were broken into in several streets in Pembury overnight from Thursday into Friday.

They were parked in Knights Close, Knights Rode, Henwood Green Road, Church Road, Elmhurst Avenue and Amberleaze Drive.

Sgt Michael Perryman said: "These vehicles were quite clearly targeted as they all had power tools inside and other vehicles nearby were left alone.

"I would remind people not to leave things of value in their vehicles. It is inconvenient but in the long run it is much safer to remove tools and other equipment."

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact them on 01732 379217. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
