KENT Police are warning the public to beware after prescription drugs were stolen from a lorry parked on a layby on the A20 at Capel-le-Ferne between Folkestone and Dover.

Two boxes of Alprazolam, which is used to treat anxiety, panic disorder and insomnia were found nearby and some blister packs of tablets were missing.

The lorry, bound for Portugal, was broken into at some time over the weekend. A police spokesperson said: "If anyone finds these drugs they should hand them in at a police station.

"Prescription drugs should only be taken by the person to whom they have been dispensed for, and only under the guidance of a doctor.

"I would urge parents to make sure their children know the dangers."
