PC Mick O'Meara, from Medway Police, has been nominated for his involvement in the community.

He has been put forward by Karen Yusuf, a youth development worker at Strood Youth Centre.

She said: “Mick is very committed to the community he works in. He is always out and about in the area on his bike.

“Mick gets involved with community events and is always interested in the work we do at the youth centre.

“He is one of the best police officers around.”
