Prison warden Daniel Mackenzie, 27, charged with supplying cannabis to inmates at HMP Elmley

Daniel Mackenzie was a warden at HMP Elmley

A warden is accused of dealing drugs to inmates at a Kent prison.

Daniel Mackenzie, of Cheriton Road, Folkestone, allegedly supplied cannabis to prisoners at HMP Elmley, on the Isle of Sheppey.

The 27-year-old has been charged with four drugs offences.

He is accused of two counts of supplying cocaine; possessing cocaine with intent to supply; and supplying cannabis at HMP Elmley.

Mackenzie was charged yesterday after an investigation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.

He is due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Monday, September 17.

Mackenzie has since resigned from the Prison Service.
