A prisoner who escaped from a Kent prison remains on the run after three days.

Keith Cockerton is the third inmate to go missing from Blantyre House, near Goudhurst, in less than two months.

The 28-year-old, from Gillingham, was serving a sentence for robbery at the open prison.

Kent Police appealed for help in tracking down Cockerton, who was jailed in 2006, after he failed to return to Blantyre House on Saturday when he was allowed out on community release.

People are also being warned not to approached him, but to phone police if they spot him.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "He is white, 5ft 10in with shaved ginger hair.

"He was last seen wearing a baby pink-coloured polo shirt and powder blue shorts.

"The public are being warned not to approach him but to report any sightings of his whereabouts to Kent Police."

In July, 39-year-old Raymond Atkins went missing from Blantyre House - just weeks after murderer Jamie Frater escaped from the same prison.

Anyone with information about Cockerton's whereabouts is asked to phone DS Benjamin Turner on 101.
