KENT residents are being urged to have their say on a masterplan that will shape every aspect of county council policy between now and 2010.

KCC says it is crucial that as many people as possible have an input into how the 67 key aims and objectives set out in a document "Towards 2010" can be achieved.

The ruling Conservative administration says the blueprint is an ambitious progamme designed to bring about improvements to the lives of everyone who lives in the county.

Council leader Cllr Paul Carter said: "We need the input of all stakeholders - residents, district councils, town and parish councils, health bodies, the police and voluntary and community organisations to determine what we are doing right and how we can plug the gaps in services."

A public consultation on the document is taking place and views and opinions can be submitted to Cllr Carter until the end of July.

The final version of the document will be published in September, when it will be complemented by an action plan for delivering each goal.
