Pupils get taste of WW2 life

Food rationing and air raids were experienced by pupils at Sturry Primary School during Home Front workshops.

Year six pupils got a unique glimpse of life during the Second World War thanks to ex-serviceman Peter O’Sullivan.

Peter put both history classes through their paces during his Home Front Experience workshops.

They learnt about air raids and food rationing and dressed in wartime costumes.

It is the fourth year that Peter has been holding the workshops, and this year he also included one in drill instruction.
