At its full height of 113 metres it's taller than St Paul's or Canterbury Cathedral – and a stack of 21 male giraffes would struggle to look it in the eye.

Kent's biggest ever crane – a tower of shining blue metal – has arrived at the Thamesport container handling terminal in Medway.

The new ship-to-shore gantry crane was made in Shanghai – the world's largest cargo port – by the Zhenhua Port Machinery Company.

The enormous structure can reach right over the new ultra-large container ships - known as mega ships - that transport goods over the world's deepest shipping channels.
