A MAN registered as an official “waste carrier” has been sentenced for fly-tipping.

Neil Francis, who ran a rubbish removal business in Anerley, has had his licence revoked after illegally dumping trash in two areas of the borough.

A district judge ordered he carry out community service after admitting the offences at Bromley Magistrates’ Court.

Francis had dumped rubbish in Anerley Court, Anerley Vale, and Churchfields Road, Beckenham, during summer 2006.

Because he has three previous identical convictions in the borough, he was given a six-month community and unpaid work order.

He was also given a driving ban and two-month curfew tag, meaning he must stay at home between 7pm and 6am.

And the Environment Agency also confirmed it will withdraw his waste carriers’ registration.

A council spokesman said: “Bromley is acknowledged as a pleasant place to live, work and relax and we take seriously any actions that are likely to spoil this and blemish the borough’s reputation.”

Francis was also given a 28-day suspended prison sentence for failing to pay earlier fines.
