Hythe Town needed a 90th-minute equaliser from skipper Dave Cook to save them from defeat when they met Ryman League, Division 1 South promotion rivals Sittingbourne at Reachfields on Saturday.

Hythe would have drawn level on points with leaders Maidstone if they had won but inste ad they were grateful to salvage a point after the Brickies had led from the third minute thanks to a Tom Loynes strike.

Faversham moved back into seventh after winning 2-1 at Corinthian-Casuals.

Lawrence Harvey put the Lilywhites ahead on the half-hour and, after Jamie Cottee equalised in the 65th minute, Jamie Maxted scored the winner five minutes later.

Herne Bay battled to a 1-1 draw at bottom club Walton Casuals. Sol Patterson-Bohner put the home side ahead after 24 minutes but Dan Wisker equalised in the 62nd minute.

Whitstable secured their first victory under new manager Nicky Southall with a 3-0 success over Walton & Hersham at Belmont.

Micheal Everitt opened the scoring with an 11th-minute header and Buster Smissen grabbed the Oystermen's second shortly before half-time. Dan Hanshaw then added their third 17 minutes from time.

In Division 1 North, Chatham lost 1-0 at Soham Town and Thamesmead were beaten 3-2 at home by Cheshunt with the 'Mead goals coming from Baff Addae and Chris Edwards.

In the Ryman League, Premier Division, Margate's top-of-the-table clash at Whitehawk was abandoned after 50 minutes because of a waterlogged pitch with the home side leading through a first-half Josh Jones goal.

On Sunday, Cray Wanderers lost 3-1 at home to Kingstonian.

Maidstone United's FA Trophy second round tie at FC Halifax was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch and the sides will try again on Tuesday night.
